The grief in healing

The Grief in Healing

There are seasons of healing that really just suck.

Healing doesn't always feel like the inspirational quotes or the before-and-after's we see on social media.

Sometimes it can feel numb, heartbreaking, and just Sh*ty.

Like wondering if you will ever be fully “healed” or if any of the work is even worth it.

Loneliness. Fatigue. Imposter-Syndrome.

Sometimes it's grieving the future you thought you would have.

Sometimes it's grieving the past version of yourself or the relationships that almost worked. The family you wish you had, the little child in you that had no idea what they were getting into.

Life isn't measured by the mistakes we make or the sadness or the grief.

It's measured by what we do with it. Do you choose to grow, to learn, to adapt?

Or do you abandon yourself, thinking it will all disappear?

I am learning that emotions are not problems to solve.

Emotions are teachers and guides.

If you're in one of those quiet seasons right now, I hope you know this: You don't have to feel inspired every day to be making progress.

Sometimes surviving the day with your heart still open is enough. And that's healing, too.

Reply with what's on your mind today. I respond to every email personally, and I truly want to know.

Your stories heal me too.

With love,

— Kay
