A quick update from Therapy Kay before weekly newsletter 💛

Therapy Kay

MA, MSW Therapist in Training

Hi Friend,

If you are receiving this email it's because somewhere along the way we have connected. Maybe it was through Not So Dumb Blonde Podcast, Meet Me West, a community event or one of my mental health or a professional networking project.

I have loved getting to know you all and connect with so many incredibly individuals. It has been deeply empowering and liberating to connect with so many wonderful people.

Over the past few years, my work has evolved quite a bit. After spending almost, a decade selling my soul to corporate sales, and spending my free time following my passions in marketing, and fundraising, I made the decision to change careers to what feels most authentic to me. I have decided to pursue social work and mental health counseling. Today, I'm an MSW graduate student, mental health advocate, podcast host, and future therapist (2027 WOOHOO!)

As I continue building Therapy Kay, I wanted to reach out before I begin sending regular emails.

Going forward, I plan to send a weekly newsletter focused on topics such as:

• Women's mental health
• Relationships and attachment science
• Trauma and healing
• DBT skills and emotional regulation
• New podcast episodes and resources
• Community events, resources and opportunities to connect
• My journey as a therapist-in-training

If those topics sound helpful or interesting, I'd love for you to stay.

As a thank you, I've included my free guide:

Anxiety or Red Flag?

If you'd like to continue receiving emails, simply click the guide, reply to this email, or keep an eye out for future newsletters.

If these topics aren't relevant to you, please feel free to unsubscribe using the link below. No hard feelings whatsoever.

I want this community to be authentic and aligned, and I know some of you originally connected with me through events, networking, podcasting, or other projects. I want to be respectful of your inbox.

Thank you for being part of the journey.

Warmly,

Kay

How I Learned to Trust Myself with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Hi Friends,I talk a lot about how Dialectical Behavioral Therapy has changed my life, but I don't talk enough about why it changed my life. It can be really hard to trust ourselves, especially in a work where we are constantly inundated with information about what we should do. If you have a history of trauma or childhood trauma, that ability to trust yourself became even more difficult to access, and understandably so. I used...

How I Broke Free From Anxious Attachment & Childhood Trauma

How I Broke Free From Anxious Attachment & Childhood Trauma Hi Friends, Something I don't talk about enough is my personal battle with having an anxious-avoidant attachment style growing up. Research shows that children often lay the foundation for their attachment by age three. This means that the way you relate to others relationally, whether you tend to skew towards trusting or distrusting others and yourself, is primarily developed long before your memory serves you. Although the...
